Most enemy parties with 2 - 3 monsters have been increased to the maximum of 4. This gives a sense of the growing power and perversion coming from the estate. They are now aligned with the corresponding dungeon's denizens but are rarely encountered.įinally, select enemies from the Darkest Dungeon can now make rare appearances in all champion level dungeons. Snakes from the ShieldBreaker DLC can also have new appearances in revised formations. However, none of the infestation's effects or the fanatic's arrival will begin until you actually do the Crimson Court so that delaying the DLC remains an option. This changes up the pacing of the campaign. This means that your heroes may get the Crimson Curse without having started the DLC. Most fights are at least 4 v 4, and it is on the player to carefully manage and outlast the enemy.Įnemies from the Courtyard are also introduced into the default dungeons, albeit at a very low chance. Vanilla formations that included 4 rapid dogs or just 3 maggots have been changed or mixed with other enemy types in the area. Stronger enemy types are more frequent, and enemy party formations are more cunning than ever. (no changes were made to items, heroes or monsters) These changes only affect a single file type, and it is intended that Darkest Dungeon Tactics be as compatible as possible with other mods. They are assigned new (and rare) groupings based on the dungeons they are spawned in and respect the original atmosphere of each location. It integrates enemies from ALL DLCs more naturally into your overall campaign rather than having most of them reclused in one zone. It is intended to add variety and replace a blatant asset flip with a less offensive asset flip.įor those who have already completed the Crimson Court questline, feel free to use my Eternally High Infestation mod to bring back the Infestation Eggs. This modification primarily increases, rearranges and improves enemy rank formations. Note: This mod does not reskin the normal Egg Clusters. This mod gives the Infestation-teathered Egg Clusters a more see-through coating than their Courtyard exclusive counterparts, allowing you to see the Gatekeeper gestating inside.Ī huge thank you to Kittyintheblack for teaching me the art of making semi-translucent sprites, and to Genlis_Tin for making the animated bubbles. I figured they could use an at least slightly altered skin, which is where this mod comes in. My mods in general try to rectify that, even though whether or not that needs to be rectified in the first place is up for debate.Ĭase in point: The Egg Clusters which spawn around the various dungeons are exactly the same, right down to the description, as the Egg Clusters found naturally in the Courtyard, despite having slightly different mechanics (namely the Gatekeepers and the lack of stress heal). In fact, even some of the mods intended to fix or add content to the Courtyard (Courtyard Plus, for example) have a ton of recycled assets. The amount of recycled assets in the Crimson Court is as far as I can tell far greater than that of any other DLC released for Darkest Dungeon.
